Performing as a Pianist in Cambridge
I’ve always enjoyed my visits to Cambridgeshire and I have played at many of the county’s great venues. It is usually weddings that bring me over to the area and it is definitely a good area for venue choice. Apart from my work in the county as a wedding pianist, I have also done more than my fair share of corporate events and private parties.
From a Solo Pianist to a Jazz Band
Most of my work in the Cambridge area has been as a solo pianist, but I can provide large line-ups for those occasions that require something a bit different. The line-ups I can provide range from a duo (piano and bass or piano and vocals) right up to a five piece jazz band consisting of piano, bass, drums, vocals and sax. If you contact me I can find a line-up that will match both your budget and available space at your chosen venue.
My favourite type of music to play is jazz and my piano style has developed by listening to all the great pianists of the past such as Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner, George Shearing and Nat King Cole. The music I enjoy playing consists of the songs from the Great American Songbook – music by the likes of Jerome Kern, George Gershwin and Cole Porter.
Although jazz is my thing, I do enjoy playing music from different genres such as: pop, Latin, classical, rock, blues and even singalong. The demand for singalong music has been a recent trend and I have really enjoyed playing the piano for Cockney themed events. over the last few years.
Above all else I try and make my music entertaining and hope that it will add sparkle to your event without drowning conversation.
