Performing as a Pianist in Tunbridge Wells
I have worked a lot as a pianist in the Tunbridge Wells area and I have played the piano in many of beautiful venues in Kent. These include Leeds Castle, near Maidstone; St. Augustine’s Priory, near Ashford; Sandwich Guildhall; The Pavilion, Broadstairs; Hotel du Vin, Tunbridge Wells and Eltham Palace, near Bromley. Some of the above venues have a piano, but many don’t. This does not cause a problem as I can always provide a digital piano free of charge.
From a Solo Pianist to a Jazz Band
I do a lot of solo work, but I can also provide a whole range of line-ups from just solo piano right up to a five piece jazz band. The full range of line-ups include:
a) Duo – piano and vocals or piano and bass
b) Trio – piano, bass and vocals or piano, bass and drums
c) Quartet – piano, bass, drums and vocals or piano, bass, drums and sax
d) Five Piece Jazz Band – piano, bass, drums, sax and vocals
I try and make my music sit comfortably in any social situation whether you hire me as a solo pianist or a five piece jazz band. My aim is to add sparkle to your event without drowning conversation.
Most of the time I am booked as a wedding pianist and I can provide music for every part of the wedding day including classical music for the ceremony. My repertoire covers music from the classical works of Debussy right up to the songs of Adele. The genres I cover include pop, rock, jazz, classical, latin, sing-a-long and ragtime, but my main speciality is music from the jazz and swing era: music by composers like Gershwin and Cole Porter. My pianistic style has developed by listening to the great jazz pianists of the past such as Erroll Garner, Oscar Peterson and George Shearing. This website has examples of me playing music from many different genres of music, so make sure you explore the site.
