Performing as a Pianist in Liverpool, Merseyside
I always look forward to being booked as a pianist in the Liverpool and Merseyside area. These bookings are often for weddings since most of my work in the area is as a wedding pianist. Liverpool has many great venues and is the perfect wedding destination.
I’ve mentioned weddings, but I do more than my fair share of other events. These include many corporate events and private parties.
From a Solo Pianist to a Jazz Band
Most of the work I’ve done in the Liverpool area has been as a solo pianist. However, I can provide a range of line-ups from a duo right up to a five-piece jazz band. The full range of line-ups is as follows:
- Duo – piano and bass
- Trio – piano, bass, and drums
- Quartet – piano, bass, drums, and sax

The Music
I was classically trained, yet I developed a keen interest in jazz early on in my training. My love of jazz has lasted and my piano style has evolved through listening to the great jazz pianists of the past. These pianists include Teddy Wilson, Oscar Peterson, and Erroll Garner.
A wedding pianist has to be fluent in many styles of music and this is something that I have tried to achieve. Some of the genres I cover include pop, blues, rock, classical, and even singalong.
The demand for me as a singalong pianist is a recent one and has become something I enjoy. Most of the events that I have had in the Liverpool area have been themed events. Mostly Peaky Blinders evenings and Wartime celebrations.
