The Portmeirion Hotel, Portmeirion, Gwynedd, Wales - a venue for your wedding, party or event.

Portmeirion was built in the Italian style by Clough William-Ellis on his own own wooded peninsula between 1925 and 1975 and has been used as a film set for many TV programs including the cult TV series 'The Prisoner'. The village is surrounded by 145 acres of woods and farmland and the peninsula has sandy beaches on all three sides. Portmeirion is situated in a sheltered location on the Gulf Stream and subtropical trees and shrubs are able to flourish there - giving even more credibility to the apparent Italian ethos of the village. The village is now run by a charity and the cottages in the village are let out by the hotel.

Photogragh of th inside the Portmeirion HotelWedding ceremonies are held in the town hall which can accommodate up to 100 guests depending on which of the two rooms are used. The Hercules Hall (the larger of the two) is also used for the evening reception and is ideal for dancing to either a live group or a disco (whichever you prefer). Portmeirion is the perfect place for the any wedding or event . Apart from the excellent catering facilities of the hotel and their ability to handle every aspect of your day with efficiency and ease - the location makes an incredibly spectacular backdrop for photographs or video. As a corporate event venue Portmeirion has been associated with the following clients: Rolls Royce plc, Faberge Incorporated, Automobile Association, Royal Variety Club of Great Britain, Lego and Pirelli General.

Photograph of The Town Hall, PortmeirionI love going to Portmeirion and I can't wait to be asked back there. It's a long drive but I've always loved Wales and whenever I get a chance to play the piano there - I take it. I took these photographs on a 4th December 2004 which was a very cloudy day. So hopefully I'll be able to take some brighter pictures next time.
